                   New century Slave Trade Style
By Jacquline Munro

When I watch the news
Of the Libyan slaves
Tied up
Positioned in the same way
That our ancestors displayed
Fear so deep their eyes portray
The wickedness and evil
Monstrosity acts so vile
Such native style
Surely who would want to survive
Surely they are kept barely alive
For entertainment purposes
Demon men
Who prowl with pride
To capture and display
Our African brothers
Subjected to acts
Beyond the human eye
Subjected to punishment
So gross
An invisible river of fear
Swallowing
Drowning
Life’s expectations
No hope to be rescued
No hope to be detected
No scope to see beyond
The painful journey
Of this new century slave trade style
